CAP: Client Assistance Programs

Section 112 of the Rehab Act of 1973 authorized Client Assistance Programs to provide information and assistance to individuals with disabilities who are seeking or receiving services under the act. These separate watchdog agencies are funded with grants from the federal Department of Education and administered at the state level.

Another function of the CAP is to assist the VR client in advocating his rights to appeal adverse decisions.

An easy way for you to find a CAP for your state is to do an Internet search. Goto www.google.com and type Client Assistance Program in ..... (enter your state here)
