Introduction

Each state has at least one agency whose purpose it is to assist persons with disabilities in gaining employment. These agencies receive and administer federally funded block grants (Title I of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended) from the Department of Education, Rehabilitative Services Administration.

Eligibility is determined by the relevant state agency that provides service, though these agencies must follow federal guidelines. The information that follows is based on the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services. You should check the resources provided by your own state to discover any eligibility or procedural differences.
