MJ Willard

Executive Director

MJ Willard is the Executive Director of NTI, which she founded in 1995. Convinced that people with severe physical disabilities would welcome the chance to work from home, she pioneered research into placing this population into jobs as virtual call center agents. She has helped NTI win telework grants from the US Department of Rehabilitation Services, the Department of Labor, and the Mott, Robert Wood Johnston, Fidelity and AT&T Foundations. MJ splits her time between her home in California and Washington DC to meet with potential government clients. She received her doctorate in Behavioral Psychology from Boston University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Tufts New England School of Medicine.

 

Alan W. Hubbard

Chief Operating Officer

Alan W. Hubbard is NTI’s Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the day-to-day operations at the Boston headquarters and of its many remote employees. His goal is to provide every job seeker who registers for NTI’s services the tools they need to succeed in the workplace, whether that is their home, shop, or office. Alan lives on four acres of land in New Hampshire with his dog and three cats, though that number fluctuates. He earned his BS in Computer Information Systems and his MBA from Bentley University.

 

Colin Shea

Director of Program Operations

Colin Shea is responsible for overseeing the internal operational processes that take our beneficiaries from registration to training up through job placement or reimbursement. During his 9 years with NTI, he has specialized in aligning the company’s operational and financial processes with Social Security’s Ticket-to-Work program. Colin considers himself fortunate to be able to help connect those in the disabled community with meaningful at-home work and assist working beneficiaries manage expenses. He has a BA in Business Administration from Emmanuel College and his MBA from Boston University, with a focus on Operations Technology. In his spare time, Colin enjoys exploring Boston, reading and creative writing.

 

Angela K. Baldwin

Director of Candidate Experience

Angela Baldwin is in charge of the Candidate Experience Agents, Job Coaches and Training Teams. Prior to NTI, she worked for another non-profit organization that placed underserved high school students in corporate jobs. Angela loves the opportunity to help people, despite their challenges, achieve meaningful work. She lives in Illinois and is married with three adult children, three grandchildren, and a puppy. She keeps herself busy by being a Health Coach, owning her own handcrafted aromatherapy business, stage play and event production companies. 

 

 

Michael Jackson

Director of Business Development

Michael joined NTI in 2023. He is experienced in all aspects of the staffing and recruiting industry, specializing in Customer Implementations, Recruitment, Onsite Management, Optimization of new and existing business and Operations Management with Lean Warrior, Green Belt experience. He has more than 15 years of Human Resource experience and 20 years of Management experience. He understands the importance of getting the job done right the first time.

National Telecommuting Institute, Inc. (NTI) offers high-quality, cost-effective virtual staffing services. Founded in 1995 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, NTI pursues its mission to identify and develop work-at-home jobs for individuals with disabilities and their family care givers. NTI has two programs; NTI@Home and LandAjob. 

NTI can offer recruiting, human resources, payroll and training services. NTI@Home has provided trained work-at-home employees to some of the largest U.S. government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and smaller businesses. All of whom wanted to outsource their customer service and technical support operations in order to reduce costs.

NTI has several partnerships with state and federal agencies such as the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Vocational Rehabilitation. NTI has been an Employment Network in the SSA’s Ticket to Work program since 2004. Several state Vocational Rehabilitation agencies send their clients to NTI@Home for job placement assistance, virtual training and job coaching services. NTI@Home since its inception has trained and placed over 10,000 Americans with Disabilities in jobs.
